Advancing Your Environmental Agenda: A Practical Discussion for Nonprofits

Learn how to project the voice of your nonprofit in the current political climate and strengthen your organization’s impact.
In this workshop we will hear from three professionals who have brought about meaningful environmental action through local government engagement, lobbying and community partnerships.
Our panel will share some of their tips on best practices and answer your questions about how you can apply their lessons learned to advance your organization’s cause and mission. We will cap off the workshop with a round robin conversation where attendees can share their own experiences with influencing public policy and affairs in the environmental arena.
The event is free and lunch will be provided.
Jennifer Coffey is the executive director of the Association of New Jersey Environmental Commissions, where she works with local commissions across the state. She is also a state registered Government Affairs Agent.
Sandra Meola is the communications and outreach director at NY/NJ Baykeeper, where her work as the Plastic Reduction Campaign manager earned her a USEPA Environmental Champion Award and a spotlight in The New York Times.
Ed DiFiglia is the municipal policy specialist at Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association where he works with 25 municipalities across five counties to promote local level policies to improve water quality.
