Watershed Stormwater Conference
December 11 @ 9:00 am - 5:00 pm$25
Stormwater is a significant problem in New Jersey, where it contributes to severe flooding and polluted drinking water. In fact, poorly managed stormwater is the number one source of water pollution in New Jersey.
Come hear from an array of local experts and learn about stormwater problems and solutions on Monday, December 11 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m at the Watershed Center in Pennington. Topics at the conference will include stormwater rules in New Jersey, the extent of impacts from polluted runoff, and how you can get involved. Attendees will learn what to look for in reviewing a stormwater mangement plan, how water quality is impacted by stormwater, and how other jurisdictions are handling the problem with green infrastructure. We will wrap up the day with a panel discussion focused on what next steps are necessary for New Jersey to address problems with stormwater management.
Speakers will include representatives from the New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection, Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association, Princeton Hydro, the National Resources Defense Council, and others. Registration begins at 8:30 a.m. with a continental breakfast. Lunch will also be provided. Advance tickets are $25.00. We welcome NGO’s, engineers, members of Environmental Commissions, Planning and Zoning Boards, as well as members of the general public interested in learning about the problems and solutions surrounding stormwater.
