Working with Interns
February 29, 2016 @ 9:30 am - 12:30 pm
WHEN: Monday, Feb. 29th, 2016 (9:30am – 12:30pm)
WHERE: Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association
31 Titus Mill Road, Pennington NJ 08534

For many nonprofits, interns are worth their weight in gold. They increase capacity, provide new perspectives, and hopefully become the next generation of environmental leaders. In this workshop, we’ll answer all of your intern-related questions, with specific attention to:
- Where to find and recruit interns
- How to find the right intern for the job
- How to find the right job for an intern
- How to maximize the impact of the internship for both your organization and the intern
Dr. Alicia Monroe, Assistant Director of the Office of Career Advancement at Rowan University, Debra Kelly, Director of the Career Center at TCNJ, and Laura Szwak, Director of Education and Outreach (and intern coordinator extraordinaire) at the New Jersey Conservation Foundation, will serve as our panel of experts. Together, they will discuss their insights, experiences, and the resources they recommend to make working with interns easy and enjoyable.
In addition to the presentations and Q&A session with the panelists, this workshop will feature a roundtable discussion to allow participants to share their best practices and challenges with one another. We want to learn from your experiences in working with interns too!
