Unmanned Aircraft Systems & Land Stewardship

September 9, 2016 @ 10:00 am - 1:00 pm

 Friday, September 9
Time:  10:00 am – 1:00 pm
Place:  D&R Greenway Land Trust (One Preservation Place, Princeton, NJ)
Cost:  FREE  –  Lunch provided!

Gene Huntington of Remote Intelligence LLC will demonstrate various ways unmanned aircraft systems (UAS or “drones”) can be used to help steward conservation land.  The program will begin with a field demonstration on land at D&R Greenway Land Trust’s headquarters.  Gene and his team from Remote Intelligence will then present a program outlining the various applications and practical considerations when using this new technology.  Applications include identifying areas of emerging invasive flora species, mapping & monitoring conservation easements, deer and bear thermal density studies, erosion control confirmation, monitoring public use and access, and others.  Learn practical considerations–costs, liability, permits, training, equipment–you need to understand before incorporating UAS into your stewardship program.
